Classic Gothic II.

Here are a few shots of the Gothic lugs all brazed and cleaned and ready to paint. Today I’m working on getting the rear end added to this front. It’s getting classic side tack stays with fabricated caps. Should be cool.

Have a great weekend.

Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen lugs ‘finned,’ for lack of a better/correct term, but the aesthetic is incredible. Well, I guess I might have seen bb lugs with this feature. I would infer that they are at least a bit stronger than ‘normal,’ so I wonder whether you’d ever recommend such lugs for a very strong or heavy rider, say at the head tube, to increase front end stiffness? Intrigued.

    Hey Matt,

I don’t se the lugs as a way to make the bike stiffer or stronger. IMO they just look cool and that is enough reason to use them. I’ll bet if one tested the stiffness it would be slightly greater due to the webs but I’ll bet is not something even the most sensitive would feel.

Cool, they certainly look awesome. I look forward to seeing this frame painted!
