Fully Loaded.

I think I’ve been a bit quiet lately – I guess that’s due to my spending as much time at the bench as possible. I’m trying to get a bit ahead so that I can fit in a few days off this summer.

This week’s bike is for a gentleman from Billings MT which is about 2 1/2 hours away by car so I guess he is the closest I’ve had to a ‘local’ customer. His bike is a fully loaded touring bike built to accept the very cool Surly front and rear racks and SKS fenders. Each rack is rated for 80 pounds. I hope he doesn’t load the bike down with 160 lbs of gear! That might be a bit tough to get up the hills in Montana. The bike is set up for a wider rear hub (135 mm) and will be capable of self supported touring. Sounds like fun.

I have an hour or two left to work on the frame getting it all cleaned and polished and ready for paint and then I’ll build the fork.

Thanks for reading.

Dave
