Gulf Racing Colors.

If you are like me and a ‘man of a certain age’ you will recognize these colors instantly. I can see them in my minds eye right now – those long and wonderful Porsche 917’s with Gulf racing livery. Iconic.

Recently I built a bike for a customer that apparently feels the same way and wanted JB to paint his bike with those colors and as usual JB nailed it. It’s not easy to pay homage to a race car on a bike due to the very small and curved surface area of a bike but I think JB did a great job of doing just that.

This frameset should be at its new home soon and I look forward to seeing how the owner builds it up. If he’s good enough to send photos I’ll be sure to share them here.

As always – thanks for looking.

Dave

Awesome, but you dated yourself. Because there are men of a certain age that remember the Ford GT 40 and the Porsche 908 that wore that livery long before the 917. It looks my size, by the tabs I assume Rando and not cross. If the it is anywhere near a 60 x 59 give the owner my email. If he doesn’t like it I’m sure will

    Hey Matt,

Thanks for the comment and question. This bike is more of what I think of as an ‘allroad’ or as i call it an ‘MRB’ – Montana Road Bike. It’s a go anywhere quickly bike that will be a blast to bomb around on in the dirt and when you get it on the pavement should roll along like a road bike – good stuff.

    Thanks again,
