Another on its way.
Here’s another bike that just want out and yes another headed to Taiwan. I really need to visit Taiwan. I don’t like flying much but I love to drive – can I drive there?
Sunny and warm here today but cold wet weather coming tomorrow – I’d better get some miles in today.

Hello Dave
Would You like to drive a airplane to Taiwan ? ..^_^
Dear Dave,
As a matter of fact, here in Taiwan there’re so many fans of your works, so I guess you may really think hard about visiting here!! Plus, this small island has many a hors catégorie climb; if your backlog are cleared a bit in the distant future, thoses beautiful climbs are worth your visit.
Can I do that? That would be a long run-way taxi!
I think if I could get in my sports car and drive there I’d do it right now.
Dave
That is what I’ve heard. I’d love to try out those steep climbs.
I’d love to see some of the Kirks there in a group photo together!

Not sure if you knew this, but my wife’s family is from Taiwan, and they travel there frequently. You’d quite enjoy a visit there, though it would be a change from the wide open spaces of Montana. Wonderfully friendly people. Set aside at least one whole day for the big museum in Taipei. Do bring your appetite — authentic Chinese food is extraordinary. Suggest you not try to drive a car there — the morning commute in Taipei looks like the Grand Prix of Monaco double booked with a demolition derby.
Hi Dave, I’m interested in the oriental characters on the seat tube. It couldn’t mean just “Kirk Frameworks” could it? And how did Joe Bell do that?
Good question. I had no idea so I asked the owner of the two bikes that have the characters on the seat tube and he told me it might be a bit difficult to translate but tried. Here is what he said about the characters on the red bike –
“means The Buddha has great wisdom and knowledge to know and understand
everything then feel free at no time.”
Here’s what he said about the characters on the blue bike –
“means The Buddha feels free at no time himself first, then let everybody
knows what he knows, then let everybody feels free at no time too.”
I don’t feel like I have a full understanding but it gives me an idea. Pretty cool.
